With over 17 years of market research experience Jeff Thomas provides the big picture view from a research perspective and is actively involved with the actual verbatim coding.
Throughout his career Jeff has been involved in all phases of data collection and processing from interviewing to managing a phone center to complex data manipulation and analysis. It is this breadth and depth of experience that enables him to understand the reality of how respondents relate to survey questions and the impact that has on the overarching goals of the research.
Jeff has managed hundreds of projects in a variety of different industries. His work in energy and natural resources took him around the country overseeing research on topics ranging from national park carrying capacity to the effects of sonic booms on residential areas.
Jeff got his start in the research field at the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for HBRS in Madison Wisconsin as a Research Supervisor and Project Manager from 1990 until 1995. From 1995 until 2005 Jeff worked as a Project Manager for Opinion Dynamics Corporation in Cambridge Massachusetts. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dianna Leifson Thomas | Partner
Dianna Leifson Thomas brings over a decade of experience in project management and data processing in the financial, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods industries. She has extensive experience managing both qualitative and quantitative studies with particular expertise in brand equity, segmentation, ad tracking, customer satisfaction, and usage and awareness.
Dianna has extraordinary data skills, having managed and manipulated literally hundreds of data sets. From coding to cleaning to cross-tabulation, Dianna’s work is accurate, efficient, and thoughtful reflecting years of experience in the industry. An Expert in SPSS, WinCross, and Excel, Dianna can manage the largest and most complex of data sets with ease.
Dianna worked with Cogent Research from 1996 through 2007. While there she held the titles of Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Director of Operations. As Director of Operations she developed the vendor relationships and organizational systems needed to support the research process. Dianna oversaw and trained project management and data processing staff and served as resident expert in the areas of sample management, programming, and fielding. Prior to joining Cogent she worked at Opinion Dynamics Corporation for two years as a project assistant.
When Dianna is not crunching data herself, she is often training others in the areas of data processing, project management, sample management, programming, fielding and overall quality control processes.
